Way2Online Group Uses ZipDial For Mobile Number Verification

Way2Online Group, that owns the popular free P2P SMS sending site, Way2SMS, is now using ZipDial To Verify for mobile number verification across all its properties. Way2SMS is one of the highest traffic sites of India and with high volume of new users registering everyday.

Knowing the user’s correct mobile number is very critical to free SMS sending sites as any failure at this point can lead to spam SMS being send to random people with random sender numbers. There are other Indian social networking sites and free SMS sending sites that have now started using the ZipDial To Verify product as the primary method of verifying user’s mobile number.

Being able to serve high volume sites like these is a great proof of the scalability of the core ZipDial platform. We are looking to add many more high volume sites to our client base in the next couple of months.

Why is Way2SMS using ZipDial even though it has it’s own SMS based system?
The issue with SMS based verification is that the site has to send an SMS to the user even to verify his number. At this stage the user is not verified and it is unknown whether the mobile number provided by him is actually his. Hence the system might end up sending the OTP SMS to the wrong user, that is as good as spam.
